Panera Bread in Southbury is offering a taste of edible philanthropy on Thursday, July 23, with 30% of qualifying purchases from its Main Street location going to the Southbury Affordable Housing Alliance (SAHA).
Online and in-app orders will count towards the fundraiser for the entire day, while in-person orders are eligible only between 4 and 8 p.m. Customers ordering online or through the Panera App must enter the code FUND4U at checkout for the purchase to count toward the donation.
SAHA uses donations for public programs to inform people about affordable homes and to save for that time it can finally create sustainable homes for those with modest incomes who need rents and mortgages that viably suit their budgets.
As SAHA puts it, a diverse population living in safety and comfort is the yeast that binds its members into a thriving community.
