July 15 UPDATE:
CT DEEP EnCon Police, assisted by Southbury Police, arrested a 23-year-old man on July 13 in connection with the reported assault at Kettletown State Park.
According to police, the man, identified as Darius Moreno, threatened two juveniles with a knife and attempted to sexually assault them. The juveniles resisted and were able to escape, police said.
The suspect was processed at Connecticut State Police Troop A and held on a $250,000 bond. He was arraigned in Connecticut Superior Court in Waterbury on July 14.
He faces multiple charges, including robbery first degree, assault in the third degree, strangulation in the third degree, criminal attempt at sexual assault in the third degree, and unlawful restraint, among other counts.

SOUTHBURY — DEEP EnCon Police responded to Kettletown State Park in Southbury on Monday following a report of an assault.
One individual was taken into custody and is receiving treatment at a nearby medical facility. No other injuries were reported.
Officials say the incident appears isolated and there is no danger to the public. EnCon Police are continuing to investigate.
The scene was cleared at about 8:00 p.m. shortly after a car was towed from the park.
