The Southbury Juniorettes, the junior division of the Southbury Women’s Club, are partnering with Sustainable Southbury for a bottle and can drive to raise money for charity events and activities.
The Southbury Women’s Club is a local nonprofit service organization of women of all ages with different backgrounds and varied interests. They combine their time, talents, and energy to enrich the community.
The bottle and can drive will take place on Sunday, July 5th, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 800 Main Street South, Southbury.
Please note that EyeRecycle requires aluminum cans to be bagged separately from plastic bottles. Plastic bottles must be pre-sorted by size: under 1 liter, 1 liter, and 2 liters. Glass bottles should be packed in cardboard boxes to help prevent breakage. Participants using EyeRecycle bags with pre-sorted recyclables may use the express lane for quick drop-off and payment. Empty inkjet printer cartridges (not laser cartridges) will also be accepted.
If you do not have an EyeRecycle bag, volunteers will assist in transferring recyclables into approved bags for counting. Bags cost 50 cents each and may be purchased at the event, through EyeRecycle, or at Sustainable Southbury events. Please note there is a five-bag limit for this event.
Sustainable Southbury also accepts inkjet printer cartridges (not laser). The small proceeds earned from recycling printer cartridges benefit Sustainable Southbury.
