Letter: “Read Charter, Learn Charter, Vote Charter”

This is the season for letters and notes to support many political candidates in many local races.

I am not writing for that reason, but for a similar one. I wanted to urge all of my fellow Southbury residents to vote in the upcoming election and to specifically come out and vote upon the (4) four Charter Revision questions that will appear on the ballot this November 4th

I was the Chairman of the Commission here in town that researched and came up with these questions and wanted to state that these were arrived at in a thoughtful and bipartisan manner. I encourage everyone to understand and consider these questions carefully and to make an informed decision this election day.

You might even see some signs around town that say “Read Charter, Learn Charter, Vote Charter”. Please do that.

Lastly, I wanted to express my sincere thanks to the other members of the Commission who spent many, many hours researching, discussing, and meeting to arrive at the questions that will be presented to all of you.

If anyone has additional questions or would appreciate more information about the Charter changes, please do not hesitate to call me personally. My contact information is publicly available.
