Letters to the Editor – Your Voice Matters

At The Southbury Record, we believe local voices shape local progress. Our Letters to the Editor section is a space for residents to share their thoughts on town issues, community life and public affairs.

How to Submit

  • Email your letter to news@southburyrecord.com or southburyrecord@gmail.com. (Either one works).
  • Please paste your letter into the body of the email
  • Include your full name, town of residence and a phone number for verification (your contact information will not be published).

Guidelines

  • Letters must be no more than 600 words.
  • Letters should focus on local or regional topics relevant to Southbury.
  • Submissions must come directly from the author—no anonymous or third-party submissions.
  • Letters may be edited for clarity, length, and civility.
  • We do not publish personal attacks, hate speech, or misinformation.
  • Opinions expressed are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Southbury Record.

When Letters Are Published

We publish letters on a rolling basis, typically within 24 hours of verification. There are no fixed deadlines.

We welcome thoughtful contributions and encourage everyone to take part in the local conversation. Your voice matters here.
