Troop 1607 and Sustainable Southbury are teaming up for a bottle-and-can drive, with the goal of turning recyclables into resources for local Scouts.

Troop 1607 is a thriving Scouts BSA troop for boys and girls based in Southbury, CT. Through weekly meetings and monthly camping trips, Scouts build a strong sense of adventure, community, and leadership. The troop’s mission is to foster belonging, develop character, and prepare young people to become capable leaders. Proceeds from this Sustainable Southbury bottle-and-can drive will directly support Troop 1607 in carrying out that mission.

The fundraiser will take place on Sunday, August 2, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 800 Main Street South, Southbury.

Please note that EyeRecycle requires aluminum cans to be bagged separately from plastic bottles. Plastic bottles must be presorted by size: under 1 liter, 1 liter, and 2 liters. Glass bottles must be placed in cardboard boxes to prevent breakage.

For the most up-to-date information on items not accepted (including commonly brought cans not covered by state redemption contracts), presorting requirements, and the use of the express lane, visit www.sustainablesouthbury.org/eye-recycle-event or email info@sustainablesouthbury.org.
