Mattatuck Unitarian Universalist Sunday Services for January 2026

SOUTHBURY — Members and friends of Mattatuck Universalist Society will begin January carefully considering what the New Year has to offer each of us as well as the community and the world beyond.

In January, weekly services will focus on the theme “Practicing Resistance.” As we leave behind unfulfilled resolutions, unrealized dreams, and unrealistic expectations, we look for ways to work together. We do this by centering “love” in all that we do while promoting justice for everyone grounded in a vision of a better world.

In addition to weekly services, the Mattatuck Universalist Society will also celebrate “30 Days of Love” from mid-January through February 16. This serves to ground activities and sustain a greater community with Love at the center. Each Sunday, a speaker will focus on one of the many aspects of these themes.

Sunday services are held at 11 a.m. at 283 Main Street North, inside the sanctuary at UCC Southbury, with refreshments and conversation afterward in the social hall. Children are welcome and a Religious Exploration program is available for families.
