Democratic candidate for Southbury First Selectman Tim O’Neil, along with Board of Selectmen candidates Cathy De Carli, Kelly Keenan, and Wendy Bernard, will hold a townwide forum Wednesday, October 22, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Southbury Senior Center, 561 Main Street South.
The forum is open to voters of all ages and political affiliations. Residents are invited to bring questions to the podium, where O’Neil and the Board of Selectmen candidates will be given an allotted period to answer.
“The voters of Southbury deserve every opportunity to hear from candidates to help assess their qualifications, experience, accomplishments, and ideas,” said Chairman of the Southbury Democratic Town Committee, Michael Carrington. “The level of transparency that they bring to campaigning is what they will carry with them as members of the Board of Selectmen.”
O’Neil, a lifelong fourth-generation Southbury resident, is the Democratic challenger to the Republican incumbent, Jeff Manville, in a rematch from the 2023 local election.
In an interview with The Record, O’Neil says the issues that motivated him to run two years ago have only intensified.
The trio of Democratic candidates for Board of Selectmen — De Carli, Keenan, and Bernard — each brings their own unique experience in public service, professional leadership, and local civic involvement.
