The Rocking Rooster Square Dance Club is inviting the community to get moving with two free, beginner-friendly square dance classes on Tuesdays, September 9 and 16, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the United Church of Christ, 283 Main Street North in Southbury.
No partner or experience is required, just comfortable shoes and a sense of fun. Registration is not required.
The Rocking Roosters, originally based in Newtown and now dancing twice a week in Southbury, will be celebrating its 64th anniversary this November.
In addition to introductory classes, the club dances at the Mainstream/Plus level year-round on the first and third Fridays from 8-10 p.m. From September through June, dances are held at Edmond Town Hall, and during the summer at the United Church of Christ in Southbury. Plans and venues sometimes change, so visitors are encouraged to check the club’s calendar or call 203-270-9676 before attending.
