The Southbury Juniorettes and Sustainable Southbury are teaming up to raise funds on Sunday, September 7, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a local recycling event at 800 Main Street South.

The bottles and cans recycling event will raise money for the junior division of The Southbury Women’s Club, aiding in charity events and activities.

The local nonprofit, founded in 2001, sponsors a number of fundraising events and activities, such as its Operation Backpack fundraiser for back-to-school supplies, CT Arts & Eats, the Southbury Turkey Trot 5k, and more.

Starting in September, EyeRecycle will require aluminum cans to be in separate bags from plastic bottles. Sort plastic bottles by size: under 1 liter, 1 liter, and 2 liters. Glass bottles must be brought in cardboard boxes to avoid breakage.
