A little country flair is coming to Southbury next month, and it’s all for a good cause.
Feed The 203 will host a Hoedown Fundraiser on Friday, September 19, bringing live music, dancing and community spirit to the Heritage Hotel, with proceeds supporting the Southbury Food Bank.
The fundraiser will include a cash bar, raffle prizes from local sponsors and a professional contra dance caller, Bill Fischer. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. at the Lincoln Room within the Heritage Hotel, located at 522 Heritage Road.
Co-founded by Pomperaug High School students Ari Lewis and Christian Cisowski, the nonprofit’s mission of combating food insecurity at the local level began earlier this year, and the student-led initiative is committed to making a difference one meal at a time.
“We want to show guests that we can bring the community together and rally a group of people to support a great cause,” said Lewis.
And while there is no official dress code, western attire is encouraged.
A 10 percent discount will be applied to tickets purchased before Monday, September 1.
