Drivers traveling through Route 188 in Southbury and Middlebury will experience nighttime delays, as overnight road work is set to begin on Sunday, August 10th.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation will begin milling and resurfacing Route 188 from Route 67 in Southbury to Route 64 (Middlebury Road) in Middlebury on Sunday, and work is expected to be completed by Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
Lane closures and alternating one-lane traffic will occur during overnight hours from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic control personnel will be on-site to guide motorists through the work zone.
Drivers should expect delays and are urged to use caution. The schedule is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen conditions.
