On Sunday, August 10 at 7:00 pm, Justice Southbury will offer the twenty-sixth in its Speaker Series of interactive Zoom conversations.
Candice Courtney, author and national speaker, will discuss “Simple Acts to Bring Greater Humanity Into an Increasingly Inhumane World.”
Candice previews her discussion: “A mean streak in our society has grown to a disturbing level, now impacting too many areas of public and private life. I believe we can counteract this through everyday actions that help soften the mindset of the mean-spirited. Working at a grass roots level we can influence a shift that fosters civility, understanding, compassion, and kindness.”
For 25 years, Candice Courtney has focused on supporting people who are doing their best to cope with life’s most difficult passages – serious illness, end of life, and grief. More recently, she has turned her attention to helping herself and others cope with a world politically volatile and culturally fraught. Life’s difficult periods call on us to help one another move through the challenges with greater strength and grace.
In addition to writing nationally published articles and essays, Candice is the author of “Healing Through Illness, Living Through Dying: Guidance and Rituals for Patients, Families, and Friends.”
Justice Southbury is a local non-partisan group whose vision is “a more fair and kind community for all.”
All are invited to attend. Those who wish to receive the Zoom link may email justicesouthbury@gmail.com.
