The Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition (PRWC) is seeking nominations for the Dr. Marc Taylor Environmental Stewardship Award. Since the establishment of the Award, PRWC has presented it annually except for a brief Covid-19 hiatus.
As a part of its twenty-fifth anniversary celebration, the PRWC looks forward to reinstating their yearly recognition of outstanding individual environmental stewards. The Award was established in 2015 to commemorate the legacy of Dr. Taylor, one of the founding members of the PRWC. His vision and dedication to a healthy watershed continues to guide the organization.
Nominations will be accepted for individuals who have a similar commitment to the environment as Dr. Taylor did. Please be sure to include the nominee’s name and contact details.
To nominate an individual, please complete and mail the nomination form by May 2, 2025 to Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition at 39 Sherman Hill Road, Suite C-103 Woodbury, CT 06798.
A brief narrative about candidates for the Award should provide:
- Descriptions about how their volunteer work supports PRWC’s vision of community engagement to safeguard clean water and healthy habitats for all.
- Anecdotes detailing what makes them a “go to person” in the environmental or conservation arenas.
- Information about their role as a leader and collaborator to benefit the environment.

The Award will be presented at the PRWC’s Silver Soirée. This event will be held in Southbury on Sunday, June 22, 2025, to celebrate PRWC’s dedication to protecting, sustaining, and restoring water resources.
