On Sunday, September 20, at 7:00 pm, Justice Southbury will offer the thirty-second in its Speaker Series of interactive Zoom conversations. Former House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt will discuss “Self-Governance: The Worst Form of Government on Earth – Except for All of the Others!”
Dick Gephardt represented Missouri’s 3rd Congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 1977 to 2005. He was House Majority Leader from 1989 to 1995 and Minority Leader from 1995 to 2003. He also ran for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in 1988 and 2004 and was mentioned as a possible Vice Presidential nominee in 1988, 1992, 2000, 2004, and 2008.
Following his retirement from electoral politics, Dick Gephardt founded a Washington-based public affairs firm, consulted with a ReFormers caucus, and co-chairs a Council for Responsible Social Media.
Justice Southbury is a local non-partisan group whose vision is “a more fair and kind community for all.”
All are invited to attend. Those who wish to receive the Zoom link may email justicesouthbury@gmail.com.
