Southbury’s annual Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday, May 25 at 11:00 a.m.

The parade route will begin at the corner of Depot Hill Road and Main Street South, winding down Main Street South to Veterans Memorial Park, where a ceremony will follow. All are invited to attend.

Drivers should note that Main Street South between Depot Hill Road and the Senior Center will be closed to traffic during the parade.

After the ceremony, the celebration continues with a free Family Day Picnic on the grounds behind the Parks & Recreation building running until 2:30 p.m.

Southbury Parks and Recreation has lined up live music from Kevin and the Hammers, face painting, and an inflatable obstacle course called the Radical Run. Kids can also craft their own tricorn hats to join in the nation’s 250th anniversary festivities. All activities are free of charge.

Troop 1607 will be on-site selling hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and drinks. Veterans eat free.

Rain/Cancellation Plan: If the parade and picnic are called off, the Memorial Day ceremony will still be held at 11:00 a.m. inside the Senior Center/Parks & Recreation Building at 561 Main Street South. Check the Southbury Parks & Recreation website for any cancellation notices.
