Mattatuck Unitarian Universalist has announced its May 2026 worship theme, “Awakening Curiosity.”
Throughout the month, services will explore how curiosity can be a bridge to other worlds, to what isn’t yet but could be – a bridge to new ideas, new experiences, and even new ways of seeing ourselves and others.
By being curious, we are reminded to explore some of the ways to make the world a better place for everyone. We continue our focus on honoring ‘Mother Earth’ with an emphasis on basic sustainability actions. Weekly programs will examine how the theme relates to Unitarian Universalist values and principles.
In addition, ministers and guest speakers will include Interfaith, National, Cultural, and special UU celebrations during the month. The American Unitarian Association and the Universalist Church of America merged on May 12, 1961, eventually becoming the Unitarian Universalist Association.
Sunday worship services are held at 11 a.m. at 283 Main Street North in Southbury. The congregation gathers in the sanctuary at UCC Southbury, followed by refreshments and conversation in the social hall. Children are welcome. A Religious Exploration program is offered for families throughout the year.
