Southbury Restaurant Week Off to a Strong Start with “Sip & Savor” Kickoff

Southbury Restaurant Week is underway, with Selectman Jason Van Stone helping launch the festivities at Thursday night’s “Sip & Savor” event at the Heritage Hotel.

Organized by Mike Ferreira of Southbury.com, the evening brought together local restaurants, residents, and community leaders to celebrate Southbury’s dining scene.

Thursday’s event drew more than 300 attendees, highlighting strong community support for local businesses. Guests sampled appetizers and cocktails from participating restaurants that are featured throughout the week-long event.

Kevin Bielmeier emceed the event, with local band “On The Road Again” providing live music.

Selectman Van Stone emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses, particularly in the restaurant sector. 

“Southbury’s restaurants are a cornerstone of our community,” he said. “Events like Restaurant Week not only highlight the incredible talent we have here, but also remind us how important it is to support the businesses that bring people together and strengthen our local economy.” 

His remarks reflected his continued commitment to fostering economic vitality while maintaining the town’s strong sense of community.
