Southbury Town Hall and Public Library Will Close Due to Snowstorm

In anticipation of this weekend’s impending winter storm, the Town of Southbury has announced that the Southbury Public Library will be closed on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

In addition, all Town Hall offices and the Library will also be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.

The Town is urging all residents and visitors of Southbury to stay off the roadways during and immediately following snow events, which will allow the Public Works department to properly clear and remove snow in an efficient manner.

Residents are reminded to maintain and clear driveways and walkways in the event emergency personnel need to access residencies.

The Town of Southbury would like to remind residents of the following:

Parking Ban
There is no parking on any town road during or immediately following a snow event. Please allow plow drivers at least six hours after the conclusion of a storm to finish their routes.

Sidewalks
Property owners who are adjacent to a sidewalk are responsible to clear the snow/ice and make it safe for the public to pass.

Road Safety Reminder
When clearing your driveway and/or sidewalks please DO NOT put snow or ice in the roadway or on the sidewalks. If a contractor plows your driveway, please remind them of this ordinance.
