The Southbury Public Library is inviting community members of all ages to submit artwork for its third annual Tiny Art Show.
Artists are asked to create original work on supplied 4-by-4 inch canvases. Artists can use any art style or medium, as long as it fits the canvas. There is no age or town residency requirement for submitting artists.
Last year, the Tiny Art Show had over 130 pieces of art submitted by community members ranging from 8 months to 77+ years old. The artwork was on display at the library’s temporary location at the Heritage Hotel, with materials such as paint, colored pencils, crayons, encaustic wax, polymer clay, paper, and more.
Canvases can be picked up from the first or second floor circulation desks beginning Friday, December 26, 2025, and continuing through the submission period.
Submissions are due by 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Submissions will be displayed in the library’s Fireplace Room, from Thursday February 12, 2026, through Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Art kits, including paints and brushes, will be available for pickup (while supplies last) from the library’s first and second floor circulation desks, starting on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
The library will also host a Drop-In Paint Day on Saturday, January 27, 2026, with all supplies provided, during the listed hours of:
- Noon to 1 p.m. – Adults
