SOUTHBURY — The Mattatuck Unitarian Universalist Society will highlight themes of “nurturing gratitude” throughout its November worship services.
Beverly Love and Rev. Lindasusan Ulrich will lead several services exploring how people can recognize gratitude in everyday life.
Guest speaker Gabriella Brand will offer a different perspective on Sunday, November 9, looking at why thankfulness can feel difficult despite its popularity in modern wellness practices.
On Sunday, November 23, Rev. Michael Tino will draw on Haudenosaunee cultural teachings as he speaks about appreciation for one another and the natural world. The congregation will include its traditional “cornbread communion” that day.
The month concludes on Sunday, November 30 with a service hosted by the Religious Exploration team, focusing on how play and shared activities build community.
Sunday services are held at 11 a.m. at 283 Main Street North, inside the sanctuary at UCC Southbury, with refreshments and conversation afterward. Children are welcome and a Religious Exploration program is available for families.
